Day 59: Crushing Kilometers

It was a warm start in our sleeping bags this morning. Warm until we got out of them that is! With temperatures reaching around -15 ºC (5 ºF) in the early morning it’s hard to find the motivation to get out of your sleeping bag on time. It’s significantly more comfortable and desirable to just stay in your warm pocket for an extra 20 min...or two hours…

When we did make the move out of our bags, we moved quickly and made some good distance. Our longest day yet since our border run! Yay, go us!

We made it to a hotel tonight. At first, they did not think they would be able to host us, but with all the experience we have gained when it comes to checking into hotels, we knew all we needed to do was call the police; something we would have never thought to do when we started. At this point, we know how to register ourselves at the police station and have helped a few cops who didn’t know what to do along the way.

It’s appreciated that we get to sleep in a warm bed and a warm room now and then as the temperature keeps dropping daily. We’re most likely going to be camping the next few days though, so we’ll swap out this one-star hotel for a thousand stars in the next few days!

Distance: 28 km

Total Distance: 919 km
